What are the ingredients of your products?
Our candles are made with 100% soy. Our wicks are made of cotton and are lead-free and zinc-free. All our fragrances are paraben-free, cruelty-free, and vegan. The diffuser bases are eco-friendly and non-toxic and the reeds are in natural fibers.
Why do you use wax for your candles?
Soy wax candles generally burn longer than paraffin candles, but what is important for us is that soy wax is derived from natural vegetables while paraffin is a refined gasoline by-product. Soy wax is 100% biodegradable while paraffin was is not.
Can I recycle my candles or diffusers?
Please, do. We are deeply committed to the environment. We suggest that you recycle our glass, tin, or ceramic pieces or, better yet, repurpose them. Our containers are beautiful: why not use them as vases, storage containers, catch-all bowls, or more? To recycle or repurpose your jar, please thoroughly cleans it with a natural dish soap or a 1:1 solution of water to vinegar.
In what other ways you are committed to the environment?
We carefully source our ingredients, favoring local providers, from wick and fragrance makers to label printing facilities. Our packaging doesn’t use any plastic. We use only recyclable materials: glass, tin, ceramic, metal, paper, and cardboard.
Some items look different from the photos online.
Our candles are entirely handmade. Few imperfections on the surface or slight variations from the candles we photographed for our website are a true mark of hand craftsmanship and should be considered a plus.
How do I care for my candle and diffuser?
Did you know that candles have a memory? When you first light one, allow it to burn until a full melt pool has formed and trim the wick to 1/4” before or after every burn session.
To prolong the lifespan of our reed diffusers, keep them out of direct contact with sunlight and heat. When the fragrance becomes faint, flip the reeds.
Can I send my order as a gift?
Yes! Festina Lente Home started as a line of gifts, either for your loved ones or for yourself. You just need to tell us during check out, and make sure to include a note: we will hand write it for you and include it in the shipment.
When do we ship orders?
Most orders are custom made and processed within 24 hours, but some custom orders may take up three business days. We will let you know with an email confirmation after checkout.
Where do we ship to?
We ship only in Italy. Please check here for rates and shipping and handling prices and return policy.
How to track an order that has been shipped?
Tracking information will be emailed to you when the item is shipped. You can always email us to inquire about shipping information.
Is there an in-store pick up option?
We do not offer pick-up options at the moment.
May I change or cancel my order?
If you haven’t received your shipment confirmation email and would like to change or cancel your order, please reach out to ASAP at email@example.com.
What can be returned?

How do customers return items?
We will refund or replace product that is defective or broken in transit. Freight damages are the responsibility of the carrier. Damages from shipping must be reported within 5 days of receipt of your shipment. Please forward a photograph of damaged goods with a full description to firstname.lastname@example.org. Keep all packaging materials and do not use product until the shipping issue is documented with the carrier. Southern Elegance Candle Co will file a carrier claim on your behalf. We will replace the damaged goods or issue a credit on a future order only. No refunds will be given.
By purchasing our products, you agree that you are knowledgeable about the safe, appropriate storage and use of the products that you purchase. You agree to carefully inspect your order upon arrival and that you will not hold me for any problems that arise from your improper storage or use of these products.
